Hence why I can count the number of close friends that I actually talk to and would spend time with on one hand.
You see that bullet?
It belongs to a .50 caliber.
You know how many inches it is?
About 5.
You know who’s taking the hits?
Libyans.
Do you know how much of an impact this is on a person’s body?
It tears them apart.
Gaddafi you are a terrible, terrible man. Subhan’Allah. Words cannot express how I and many others feel about you right now.
I am going to reblog every single image of this ammunition because it should never, ever, ever be used on a human being.
I am going to reblog every single image of this ammunition because it should never, ever, ever be used.
That bullet is bigger than the span of my hand- diagonally, vertically, horizontally…
WHAT YOU CAN DO: Links for donating/supporting Libya, Yemen, and Bahrain
Donate to the International Federation of Red Cross / Red Crescent Societies
Donate to Amnesty International
Donate to Doctors Without Borders / Medecins sans frontieres
- As of today none of the above have announced funds or missions specific to the victims of violence in the Middle East. Whether you donate or not, dropping an email or a Tweet to them to urge them to step up can do a lot of good too.
- Also keep an eye on Tumblr Aid. They’re trying to collect information on distributing donations to people on the ground in the Middle East. (If you can help, please contact them!)
If you’re on Twitter, watch the hashtags #Feb17, #Libya, #Bahrain, #Gaddafi (and all various spellings used worldwide, such as Qadafi, Qaddafi, Gadafi, Gaddhafi, Kadhafi, etc), #Yemen, #Jan25, and #Massacre. Boost the signal on everything you find to be a credible source. If you’re in a position to debunk disinformation and misinformation, DO SO.
Here are some people and organizations to contact to press them to speak out, cover the violence in the Middle East, put pressure on their diplomatic connections, and provide support.
If you don’t know what to say, Tumblr Aid can help there too: http://tumblraid.tumblr.com/post/3429458115/how-can-you-contribute
